Oasis Music Therapy · Music Together®
At Oasis Music Therapy, we are proud to offer Music Together® classes. Music Together is a research-backed early childhood music and movement program that has been sharing the joy and benefits of family music-making since 1987. Classes for children from birth through age eight run all over the world, including right here in Montreal!
From infancy through the early elementary years, Music Together nurtures each child’s natural musicality in a fun, non-performative way that’s full of developmentally appropriate stimulation. In Music Together, children are encouraged to explore and learn at their own speed, using the other kids and adults in the room as natural role models.
Each week, you’ll be led by a trained teacher in 45-minutes of singing, dancing, and playing instruments in a group of other families. Every class ends with something to take home: new songs and activities that carry music into your everyday life, in the car, or even at bath time.

Music Together® Worldwide's Role
The Mixed-Age family classes are the foundation of Music Together®. By grouping children ages 0 to 5 together, we create a natural, family-style learning environment that provides a rich social experience for everyone.
Because of this inclusive format, families with multiple children love our classes. Everyone can attend together, with each child participating at their own unique developmental level!
Babies and younger children absorb information by watching and imitating the older children around them. We see this dynamic unfold naturally every week as older children step up to lead and inspire the little ones. This unique dynamic teaches children to interact and play with peers of different ages, enhancing their overall social development.
Dancing, singing, and playing with your child is so much fun, it’s easy to forget how much learning is actually taking place! Music Together develops basic music skills like singing in tune and keeping a beat. Classes serve as a precursor for learning to play an instrument as children get older.
Transitions between songs require children to clean up after themselves by putting instruments and props away. Cleaning up is accompanied by a clean up tune, helping children have fun while building good habits.
Music Together® classes are a fun, full-body workout for growing children. Dancing, spinning, and moving to music improves their balance, coordination, and movement skills. Spending that extra energy in class means improved mood and smoother nap transitions.
Music Together® offers a unique opportunity for you to physically connect and bond with your child through lap songs, movement, and dancing. Classes can also be a fun way for you to reconnect with your own energy and find joy during the demanding years of early parenthood.
You’ll also find that classes become a community hub for parents in the area, allowing you to meet and connect with families in similar life stages. We’ve seen many parents form new friendships at Music Together!
Music Together®’s song collections include all-time classic songs that everybody knows, alongside engaging original compositions. Each semester, Music Together introduces a completely new collection of high-quality music with rich arrangements that adults genuinely enjoy listening to just as much as their kids.
Best of all, you can easily weave these songs into your daily life, sharing the experience whether you are dancing together at home or streaming the tracks on the go.
Whether you have a newborn or a very active preschooler, our classes offer a rich sensory and developmental experience for your child and a warm, welcoming community for you. We offer two program types in our NDG and Verdun studios.
For toddlers, preschoolers, and infants (ages 0 to 5) with a caregiver
Dynamic Musical Play: Spend 45-minutes singing, dancing, and participating in instrument playing. Each class is thoughtfully planned, shifting from high-energy dancing and drum playing to gentle, soothing lullabies, giving your child a fully rounded sensory experience.
Joyful Role Modeling: Led by a trained early childhood music specialist, caregivers actively participate in the fun. You will discover how simply playing, having fun, and making music as a family is the most powerful way to support your child's cognitive growth.
Everyday Musical Tools: Bring the experience home with a new songbook each semester and access to the Music Together app. You will leave every week equipped with new songs, chants, and activity ideas to easily smooth over daily transitions, car rides, and bedtimes.
For infants (ages 0 to 8 months) with a caregiver
Sensory & Cognitive Development: Spend 45 music-filled minutes singing, gentle dancing, and engaging in sensory play. Because an infant's brain is rapidly developing, early exposure to a rich musical environment actively supports language, spatial awareness, and motor skills in a way that feels like pure joy and exploration.
Parent Education: Led by a trained early childhood music specialist, you will learn how to recognize your infant’s musical milestones, such as cooing on pitch, active listening, or responding to a steady beat. We will show you exactly how to nurture these moments and support their growth at home using the activities and songs modeled in class.
Bonding Tools & Everyday Routines: Leave each week equipped with a practical toolkit of fun, engaging musical activities. You will discover how to seamlessly infuse our lullabies, rhythmic chants, and movements into your baby's everyday routine, helping to soothe fussiness and transform challenging moments like tummy time, car rides, and diaper changes into opportunities for bonding.
Music Together® is the organization that creates the curriculum we teach. Oasis Music Therapy is a licensed Music Together center: we run the classes in Montreal, and Music Together provides the framework, research, and program behind them.
• Curriculum and research. It creates the song collections and keeps the approach current with research on how young children learn music.
• Teacher training. It trains and supports the teachers who lead classes at licensed centers around the world.
• Family materials. It supplies the songbooks, recordings, parent guide, app and online resources your family receives.
• What we handle locally. Oasis MT looks after schedules, registration and the community of families who attend.
